Winds in excess of 80 miles per hour were reported as storms blew through the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex tonight. There were reports of roofs being damaged, signs and trees being blown down and powerlines snapped. More than 300,000 utility customers across the state lost power as the storms pushed across Texas. Most of the outages were in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

At one point a line of storms stretched more than 300 miles from San Antonio to Paris, Texas.
