Southwest Airlines is apologizing for the delays and cancelations travelers have experienced in recent days. In an email, the airline said "the impact on our operation is widespread." It added getting customers on new flights is tough because fewer flights are in operation. The Department of Transportation has called the rate of cancellations by Southwest "disproportionate and unacceptable." Things aren't much better today as more than 60% of Southwest's flights have been canceled.
