The Texans might be turning their backfield over to a rookie. Houston released veteran running back Marlon Mack on Tuesday as part of the team's cuts to get down to a 53-man roster. The move was a surprise after the Texans inked Mack to a one-year deal in March. The release clears the way for fourth-round draft pick Dameon Pierce to start for Houston, according to multiple reports. Pierce will still have to fend off Rex Burkhead, who led the Texans with 427 rushing yards last season.
