Rental Costs Jump To Record High

The cost of rent is hitting a record high across the country. A report from Rent.com says the average rent in the U.S. in February was about $1,700 a month, up 17% from a year ago. Cities dealing with the largest increases include Miami, San Diego, Phoenix and Austin. Austin rent increased 36% to more than 18% dollars a month. San Antonio jumped 20% to just over 1,100, Dallas was up 28% to more than 1,700, and Houston was up 13% to more than $1,400.
