San Antonio Kicks Off Campaign For Five-Year Bond Program

San Antonio leaders say the five-year, $1 billion bond program that goes before voters on May 7th will be used for fixing streets, bridges and drainage systems. At their campaign kickoff yesterday at Woodlawn Lake Park, supporters said the bond issue will not affect taxes. Proposition A will total more than $471 million and will target streets. bridges and sidewalks. Proposition B will total more than $169 million and will focus on almost two dozen flood and drainage control projects. Remaining funds include $150 million for affordable housing and money for public safety projects, parks and recreation and library facilities.
