ERCOT: We Are Ready For Winter Storm

As a winter storm hits Texas, utility officials say they are prepared. Interim ERCOT President Brad Jones says they've been working since last year's shut down to prepare for an event like this. ERCOT believes there will be near record demand on the grid for Friday morning, rivaling the numbers from last February's deadly freeze. But so far, there have been no calls for conservation. Even local utilities are stepping up their game for this upcoming winter blast. Christopher Lutrick with Denton Municipal Electric says while this storm is the worst kind of storm for electric utilities, they have improved upon their own plans after last year, and their main goal is to do a better job communicating any possible outages.
