The head of the Small Business Administration is selling the President Biden's trillion dollar social spending package as a way to help mom-and-pops emerge from the COVID pandemic.

"Our lending programs through direct-lending authorities will help us get businesses the capitol they need," said Isabella Casillas Guzman, who was joined in San Antonio by Texas U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar.

She said there is money for veteran education, which will help with workforce issues, and higher education. She says small businesses create two-thirds of net new jobs and employ half the private workforce.

Casillas Guzman says only 43% of businesses get their funding from a bank and that is addressed in the president's plan.
