Reid Detmers got his first win in the big leagues as the Angels beat the Astros 3-1 in Anaheim. Detmers threw six innings of one-run ball, racking up six strikeouts, to earn his first victory. Michael Brantley homered for Houston, which had won four straight coming in. Lance McCullers Jr. was tagged with his fourth loss, allowing two runs over five-and-two-thirds innings. The Astros continue their road trip, facing the Royals tonight in Kansas City.
