The City of Austin is officially under Stage Five COVID guidelines. Health officials are asking fully vaccinated residents wear a mask in public, and to avoid high-risk situations. Those who are unvaccinated are being urged to get the shot as soon as they can, and to stay at home as much as possible. The area enters stage five guidelines when there is a seven-day average of at least fifty new hospital admissions for the virus. Austin Public Health says that threshold was reached last Friday.
