Texas Supreme Court Extends Eviction Moratorium Into May

By order of the Texas Supreme Court, the moratorium on eviction procedures is now extended until May 18th. Landlords may still file for evictions before that date, but trials, hearings, and other procedures are suspended. The federal government has halted evictions until August 23rd for properties financed with federally backed mortgages. Local officials have put similar and sometimes stricter anti-eviction motions into effect, as unemployment claims in Texas climb to historic levels.
