Plane Crashes Near Mesquite After Takeoff From DFW

Federal officials are investigating the crash of a single-engine plane near Mesquite on Thursday afternoon. The Pilatus PC-12 took off from DFW Airport at about 3:30 p.m. on its way to Alabama. It went down near the Mesquite Metro Airport after the pilot told air traffic controllers he'd lost power. No word yet as to how many people were on board or what kind of shape they're in. Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are looking into the crash.
