New Lake Planned For North Texas

Sea and wave

The first new artificial lake in Texas in 30-years is planned for the town of Bonham, about an hour and a half northeast of Dallas. The North Texas Municipal Water District is planning to create Bois d'Arc Lake in Fannin County to help meet the water supply needs of the growing population in the area. The lake will be 15-miles long and cover 16-thousand acres. Water from Bois d'Arc Lake will supply Collin, Rockwall, Hunt, and Kaufman counties.
