NEISD Buses Affected By Fuel Mix-up

Stop Sign on a School Bus

Nearly a dozen North East ISD school buses are in need of repairs after a fueling mishap on Monday. During a refueling of the fleet at a bus terminal, gasoline and diesel were pumped into the wrong buses, causing them to conk out after they started their afternoon runs. District officials sent replacement buses to half-a-dozen schools. In all, 11 buses carrying about 400 students were affected. Eight buses had to be towed at a cost of 260-dollars each, and repairs may cost NEISD more than ten-thousand-dollars.
