Two people have been arrested in a human trafficking case.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar says a 15-year-old victim from Houston had made contact with the suspects using social media. They agreed to pay the 15-year-old $2,400 for a sexual act. The victim traveled from Houston to San Antonio and met with the suspects. She was only paid a portion of the agreed upon amount, about $1,400.

She went back home to Houston afterward. A second conversation between the victim and the two suspects happened and they agreed to pick her up again and pay the rest of the money owed. She was assaulted by one of the suspects during this second meeting. She was then dropped off in Schertz.

35-year-old Rondel Lee Peterson and 18-year-old Carolin Mitchell have been charged with trafficking of a person.

Peterson and Mitchell will both face charges of human trafficking. Peterson will also be charged with aggravated assault of a child.
