Texas State Implements Changes After Under Reporting Campus Crimes

Texas State University is making changes after under reporting campus crimes. In a statement yesterday, the university confirmed a Department of Education finding that the school fell short in accurately documenting reports of crimes. Texas State under reported rapes, dating and domestic violence, stalking as well as alcohol and drug violations in the past three years. The statement says the new campus Chief of Police is now holding monthly meetings with the compliance committee to ensure the handling of critical crime statistics is done correctly going forward.
