House Republicans Rip Impeachment Inquiry

President Trump Departs White House For Fundraising Events And Vacation

House Republicans are ripping the impeachment inquiry into President Trump. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told reporters that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has demeaned her office. Republican Whip Steve Scalise said Democrats cannot name a "high crime or misdemeanor," the standard for impeachment. Wyoming's Liz Cheney called it an "absolute disgrace." She accused Democrats of committing a "flagrant disregard for their constitutional responsibility."

Cheney argued that evidence and facts are lacking. Georgia's Doug Collins said Pelosi has lost control of her Democratic caucus. Ohio's Jim Jordan called the move toward impeachment "desperate and ridiculous."
