The Rangers jumped out to a five-run lead in the first inning as they blitzed the Angels 11-4 in Anaheim. Joey Gallo and Ronald Guzman both homered in the first to put Texas on the board. Shin-Soo Choo finished 2-for-3 with three RBI for Texas. Jeffrey Springs got the win with two-and-a-third innings of one-run relief. Kole Calhoun and Mike Trout homered for the Halos. Matt Harvey gave up 10 hits and eight runs over four-plus frames to take the loss. The Angels are just 1-and-6 on the year after dropping their home opener.
