Driver Sentenced in Uvalde Bus Crash Disaster

Jack Dillon Young, the 21 year old who slammed his pickup head on its a First Baptist Church of New Braunfels church bus on a rural highway in Uvalde County in March of 2017, killing 13 parishioners, today was sentenced to 55  years in prison, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Young could have faced 270 years after his no contest plea last year on multiple felony counts stemming from the crash.

The National Transportation Safety Board ruled last month that Young was under the influence of a combination of marijuana and a drug called clonazepam a the time of the wreck, and his judgement was impaired and his reactions were dulled by the drug.
