Troops Begin To Fan Out Along Border

The additional troops President Trump sent to the southern border are fanning out across Texas.  The troops  are putting up chain-link fences topped with barbed wire.  Border patrol agent Chris Cabrera said  they've needed help for some time.

There are three caravans currently  working their way toward the United States, the closest at least 700  miles away from the border.  The size of the caravans varies and there are people coming and going on a daily basis, but Mexican and Salvadorean officials say all three total about 8,000 people.
