Three Hurt in Two Overnight Fires

Three people, including two firefighters, suffered minor injuries in two unrelated fires on the northeast side overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The first hit Chacho's Restaurant on Perrin-Beitel. Officials say a fire on the grill flared up, shot up the exhaust vent, and set a fire on the roof.

One employee was treated at the scene.  The stubborn fire took 90 minutes to extinguish, and the food inspector is now checking out the restaurant.

About ninety minutes later, a fire destroyed a mobile home in the 8400 block of Braewick, which is just north of Montgomery Rd. near the intersection with Walzem Rd.

Kirby, Windcrest, and Converse firefighters responded, but were unable to save the structure.

Officials say two firefighters suffered minor injuries.  No word on a cause.
