27 Rescued From Uvalde County Flooding

27 people were rescued by ground and air on Sunday after flash floods swamped Uvalde County west of San Antonio, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The Uvalde County Sheriff said  some of those rescued were treated for minor injuries, but nobody was seriously hit.

Officials said the flooding inundated Chalk Creek Park along the Nueces River, due to drenching rains in the area late Saturday and early Sunday.

Many of those evacuated were campers, and the Sheriff says their families are being notified of the situation.

Officials are continuing to overfly the area to make sure nobody else is in need of rescue.
