Bexar Deputy Arrested for Drunk Driving

The disturbing spike in first responders being arrested continued this morning, when a two year veteran of the Bexar County Sheriffs Department was pulled over for DWI, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Deputy Yesenia Rios was at Alamo and Cesar Chavez, near Hemisfair, when she was pulled over.

Sheriff's officials say Rios joined the force in 2016, and is assigned as a detention officer at the Bexar County Jail.  She has  been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.

"Every effort is being made to address this ongoing issue, and to prevent drunk driving incidents in  our ranks," Sheriff Javier Salazar said.
