The Washington Capitals are two wins away from hoisting the Stanley Cup for the first time ever. Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov scored second period goals as the Caps beat the Golden Knights 3-1 in Game Three of the Stanley Cup Final at Capital One Arena. Devante Smith-Pelly added some insurance late in the third period for Washington, which takes a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven set. Braden Holtby made 21 saves in the victory. Tomas Nosek scored the lone goal in the third period for Vegas. Marc-Andre Fleury allowed three goals on 26 shots in defeat. Game Four is Monday in D.C.
