Abbott: 1400 National Guard members expected on Mexican Border

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is promising to have at least 14-hundred National Guard members on the border with Mexico.  Abbott told reporters in Weslaco today it's important to have troops on the border because there is an upswing in gang arrests and drug seizures.  He says there's been a 200-percent increase in people coming across the border without authority in the last year.  The governor says the National Guard is only going to be involved in surveillance and will not be apprehending anyone crossing the border.  Abbott believes President Donald Trump is doing the right thing by calling the National Guard to the Mexican border saying it will keep things from getting out of hand.
