A 22 year old woman who apparently had tried to 'beat the train' to a grade crossing southeast of downtown was killed this morning when her SUV was hit by an Amtrak train, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say it happened on Florida Street just east of I-37, on the same Amtrak tracks that run past Sunset Station and the Alamdome.
Police say the woman was alone in the SUV.No passengers on the Amtrak train were hurt.
