Why Any New Iran Deal Should Be Judged By Results, Not Rhetoric

With reports that the Trump administration's negotiations with Iran are "on fumes", retired Lt. Col. Bob Maginnis is offering a warning ahead of any new Iran deal.

"The real question we have to ask, is America safer and strategically stronger today than it was before the conflict began, and I would argue probably not" Maginnis said.

A new Iran deal should be judged by the results, not by victory-lap rhetoric.

"The real scorecard is going to be written by historians" Maginnis told KTRH, "And I hope he doesn't compromise too much on what the outcome is."

Basically, the win needs to be a win.

"I would caution that we've been here before" noted Maginnis, "The fact that America won tactically, it does appear strategically that Iran is going to survive under the Islamic radicals, and that's not good news."

And he cautions that keeping the same regime, will ultimately lead to the same problems, down the road.
