Spurs Erupt For 133-95 Win Over Timberwolves In Game Two To Even Series

After a game one that did not go according to plan, game two of the Western Conference semifinals went much better for the San Antonio Spurs.

Stephon Castle put up a game-high 19 points, while Victor Wembanyama added a 19-point double-double, to help the Spurs cruise to a 133-95 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.

The Spurs got started quickly, leading by seven at the end of the first quarter. That was capped off by a block from Keldon Johnson that ignited the already rambunctious Frost Brank Center crowd.

The second quarter, things really got out of hand. The Spurs outscored Minnesota 35-18 in the second period to open up a 59-35 lead at halftime. The Spurs also saw Carter Bryant back in the lineup after a right foot sprain.

Bryant did not take long making his presence known during the Spurs surge.

The annihilation continued after the break, with the Spurs outscoring the Wolves 39-28 in the third quarter.

As mentioned, Stephon Castle put up 21 points along with four rebounds and two assists. But he also showed off the acrobatics.

The Spurs quashed any hope of a Wolves rally in the fourth to seal up the win. Additionally, the Spurs were helped by Victor Wembanyama's 19 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks.

The Spurs got another good night from Julian Champagnie, who scored all 12 of his points on four three-pointers.

Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle led the Timberwolves, both scoring 12 points. Jaden McDaniels added another 12 as well for Minnesota.

The Series is now even at 1-1, and now shifts to Minnesota from games three and four.

Game three is Friday night in Minneapolis.
