Leftwing Groups Again Sue To Block A New Texas Immigration Law

Multiple left-wing groups, including the ACLU, have once again filed a lawsuit hoping to block Texas’ 2023 immigration law, SB 4.

This follows the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals lifting an injunction against the law. It is set to take effect next week.

SB 4 creates state-level crimes for entering the country illegally and allows state authorities to arrest those suspected of breaking it.

Groups like the Texas Civil Rights Project, the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas, and the ACLU argue that this law violates the U.S. Constitution by overstepping state authority.
