WHCD Shooting Suspect to be Arraigned Monday, Had Anti-Trump Manifesto

We’re learning more about the suspect accused in that shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and what may have led up to it. Investigators say 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen is expected to be charged Monday after allegedly targeting members of the Trump administration.

They say he sent a detailed manifesto to family just minutes before the attack, laying out his intentions and naming officials as targets. That document is now front and center as investigators try to piece together a motive.

President Trump on "60 Minutes" Sunday described the man’s speed as “incredible” and questioned how he got so close despite heavy security.

Authorities say Allen tried to push through a Secret Service checkpoint at the Washington Hilton before being stopped. They say he was armed and exchanged gunfire with officers before being taken into custody.

President Trump says the shooting at the White House Correspondents' dinner would never have happened with his new ballroom. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that the ballroom has every high level security feature available.

He added there are no rooms sitting on top for unsecured people to stay in.
