Texas leaders are reacting to reports that former President Donald Trump has been indicted by a Manhattan grand jury.
"Weaponization of our courts for political grievances is an abhorrent abuse of power," said Texas Governor Greg Abbott. "The George Soros-supported NYC DA is only furthering the radical liberal agenda to have elections determined at the jury box rather than the ballot box. America deserves better."
"The Democrat Party’s hatred for Donald Trump knows no bounds. The substance of this political persecution is utter garbage," said Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. "This is completely unprecedented and is a catastrophic escalation in the weaponization of the justice system."
The indictment of former President Trump marks the first criminal case against a former U.S. president. Trump has already weighed in, calling it "political persecution and election interference at the highest level in history."
