A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper continues to recover from wounds he received in a shootout with a suspect in last week's workplace shooting in Bryan, Texas. With him not able to attend his son's baseball game last night, DPS members decided to go to the game to show their support and stood on the sidelines cheering.
"We continue to pray for a speedy recovery and thank the community and all those who continue to offer kind and inspiring words," said DPS in a tweet.
Trooper Juan Rojas Tovar was wounded while attempting to take Larry Bollin into custody. Bollin is accused of opening fire at the Kent Moore Cabinet facility where he worked. The shooting left one worker dead and four wounded.
Bollin is now being held on multiple charges.
DPS says Trooper Tovar has now been released from the hospital. "He still faces many challenges in the days ahead, but he will not be alone; he has the support of a loving family and his brothers and sisters in law enforcement," said a DPS spokesman.
