Pilot Dies In Fredericksburg Plane Collision

A pilot is dead from injuries suffered in a midair collision. The Fredericksburg Standard reported yesterday that details as to exactly what happened are still sketchy. The report cites Gillespie County Airport Manager Tony Lombardi who says an incident happened Friday in the air over Hayden Ranch Road and Tivydale Road. During an annual formation training, a pilot had a gear issue in a Beechcraft J-35 Bonanza leading to a collision with a Beechcraft M-35 Bonanza. The first pilot with the gear issue died when his plane went down. The pilot of the M-35 plane is safe after making an emergency landing.
