Dog Rescued in North Side Apartment Fire

More than a dozen fire units converged on a north side apartment complex due to a smoky fire this afternoon, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The alarm come in at Icon Apartments in the 1300 block of Patricia, which is near Churchill High School.

Fast acting fire crews managed to confine the worst of the damage to one apartment on the third floor, but an entire building had to be evacuated, and some other units suffered from smoke and water damage.

One person had to be treated on the scene for possible smoke inhalation.

A dog was rescued from the building where the fire was centered.

Crews are working to make sure the people who had to be evacuated are okay.

No word on the cause of the fire.
