The Biden administration is reportedly considering both legislative and executive action to address gun violence in the U.S.
This comes after two mass shootings in Colorado and Georgia have renewed calls for gun control.
Biden has called on the Senate to pass legislation that would close loopholes in gun background checks and urged Congress to ban assault weapons.
Meanwhile, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell says the focus should be on mental illness instead. The Kentucky senator told Fox News the shooting massacres are horrendous and atrocious, but dismissed Democratic proposals on the regulation of firearms.
