Twitter Sues TX AG, Alleging Retaliation For Banning Trump

Twitter is answering the Texas attorney general's investigation with a lawsuit.

The social media outlet has filed a complaint in U.S. District Court to stop the state's investigation into its content control practices after former President Trump was banned from the platform.

The suit accuses Attorney General Ken Paxton of unlawfully using the full weight of his office to "intimidate, harass, and target" the social networking service.

Twitter argues its decision to ban Trump is protected under its First Amendment rights.

Twitter permanently suspended Trump's account on January 8th, claiming two of Trump's tweets condoned the violence at the U.S. Capitol two days prior.
