Flint Water Crisis Settlement Reaches $641M

The state of Michigan's offer to settle the Flint water crisis lawsuits is growing to 641 million dollars.

The proposed settlement to the city's residents went up after the city, McLaren Regional Medical Center and Rowe Professional Services agreed to settle instead of risking continued exposure to more lawsuits.

The state had initially offered $600 million. Flint plans to add $20 million and McLaren will match that. The remaining 1.25 million would be paid by Rowe.

The settlement must be approved by a lawyer before city residents can decide if they want to agree to it or not.
