A police officer who was wounded in the raid that killed Breonna Taylor is suing the 26-year-old's boyfriend.
Louisville Police Sergeant Jonathan Mattingly's lawsuit claims he experienced "severe trauma, mental anguish, and emotional distress because of Kenneth Walker's actions."
Walker is a licensed gun owner who said he thought Mattingly and two other officers were intruders when they crashed through the door to Taylor's apartment back in March. Walker allegedly fired a shot that hit Mattingly in the leg. Police returned fire and killed Taylor.
Walker was arrested that night and charged with attempted murder, but the charges were later dropped. He sued the Louisville Police Department and sought immunity based on Kentucky's Stand Your Ground law.
