YouTube Bans Hazardous Pranks After Bird Box Challenge

YouTube

Videos depicting "dangerous challenges and pranks" will no longer be allowed on YouTube.  The company created the ban in response to harmful or distressing viral challenges, like the Bird Box challenge.  Inspired by the Netflix film of the same name, YouTubers began to perform common tasks while blindfolded including driving cars, which led one Utah teen to crash into oncoming traffic.  Users who violate the ban will have their videos removed and a "strike" set against them, limiting what they can do for 90 days.
