Prosecution of parents who illegally cross the border with their children is no longer being recommended by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Commissioner Kevin McAleenan explained that the temporary stoppage of prosecutions stems from the executive order that President Trump signed last week.
Nonetheless, the commissioner said the administration still has a "zero tolerance" policy towards illegal immigration.
