Trump Proposes To Suspend Federal Gas Tax, Which Dems Won't Support It

With gas prices still continuing to rise, lawmakers continue to clash over President Trump's proposal to suspend the federal gas tax. Most conservatives are not surprised.

"It's kind of sad, so partisan that even a good idea that helps consumers is wrong, just because you don't like the person who is in charge" said senior market analyst, Phil Flynn.

That person in charge, of course, is President Trump, which is why the Democrats won't support it.

"Listen, this is all about politics" Flynn told KTRH, "But, I seem to remember that a lot of the same Democrats were calling for a suspension of the gasoline tax when we had the spike", which happened during the Biden administration.

Sadly, it's just more hypocrisy from the Dems, and another example of their 'America last' agenda.

"Sadly, I think if you look at the Democrats and their energy policies under the last administration, so many times decisions weren't really made for the good of the country, or the good of the economy. They were made because they didn't like Donald Trump."

Which is exactly what is happening again now.

A federal gas tax suspension would potentially slash the cost of each gallon of gasoline by 18.4 cents and 24.4 cents per gallon of diesel.

Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo. introduced legislation on Monday to do so, for a minimum of 90-days.
