Anti-Government Violence Is Reaching It's Highest Levels In Decades

According to a recent Wall Street Journal study, anti-government violence is spiking and has reached a 30-year high in 2025. That trend appears to be continuing into 2026 as extreme political rhetoric continues to heat up.

According to Breitbart News reporting on the study, of the 20 attacks recorded and studied, 10 came from the left and just eight from the extreme right. The study also neglected to count one of the most notable acts of likely left-wing violence—the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Jeffrey Addicott with the Warrior Defense Project at St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio says much of this stems from the extreme political rhetoric directed at President Trump, which we’ve already recently seen lead to multiple attempted assassinations.

“When they spew out that type of hatred, then their foot soldiers are going to pick up on that. And they’re engaged in widespread violence,” he said. The manifesto released by the Trump administration of alleged WHCA attacker Cole Allen was rife with many of the same anti-Trump talking points that are parroted constantly by the left and mainstream media.

This, of course, has resulted in a growing feeling of chaos across the country, which Addicott says the left has an incentive to keep pushing. “They’re creating the problem so they can fundraise off it,” he explained. “The way they’re talking about ‘existential threats’ or ‘we’re in a war’ and on and on and on… It makes money for them.”

He added that this is proof that in our 250th year, America is at a crossroads.
