Since day one of President Trump’s administration, securing our southern border has been a top priority, and it’s been going so well that even mainstream media outlets like CBS are starting to notice the difference.
CBS recently posted a video to their X page comparing the border in the Eagle Pass area during the height of President Biden’s border crisis and the same area now. In the video, reporter Camilo Montoya-Galvez said: “During this entire trip, we haven’t seen a single migrant… The situation here has changed dramatically.”
Terrell County Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland says that’s true not just in Eagle Pass but across the entire southern border. In the Big Bend region, he says things are even better than they were before Biden took office.
“We planned for times of busyness based on historic trends, and we just aren’t seeing that activity, and that’s border-wide,” he said.
“We’ll see little ebbs and flows of activity, but they’re still below record numbers.”
Sheriff Cleveland also pointed out that no new border-related rules, regulations, or legislation have been instituted other than funding for border enforcement, meaning the border crisis clearly never needed to get as bad as it did.
He said: “What we experienced under the Biden administration was chaos. The immigration system isn’t broken; what’s broken is Washington, D.C.”
