Trump Ultimatum: "Open the F'n Strait!"

He may have used profanity, but he made his point -- President Donald Trump indicated frustration with the slow pace of dialog between the US and Iran as the war continues.

In a social media post on Truth Social, President Trump said the US will start destroying bridges and power plants on Tuesday if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened by then.

On February 19th at the first meeting of his new Board of Peace, Trump issued a 10-day warning to Iranian leaders, saying they would need to start cooperating or the time for negotiations might end and the time for major strikes against Iran might begin.

That was nine days ago. On Saturday, President Trump warned that a "48-hour" deadline was closing in, a time period that would mean the conclusion of that February ultimatum.

Then on Sunday he posted:

"Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran," Trump's according to the post. "There will be nothing like it!!!"

"Open the F----- Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH!" he again warned Iran, in plain language. "Praise be to Allah."

The Strait of Hormuz has been closed for more than a month, blocking items that are critical to civilization, including the materials for modern agriculture, oil in its various forms, and items used in medicines and the building of computer chips.

And of course much has been made of the fact that the closing of the Strait shuts down one-fifth of the oil the world needs to survive.

Iran has been requiring ships that pass to pay a toll booth-like fee in Chinese currency, an apparent tip of the hat to China, which has been supplying Iran with materials to fight the war against the US and Israel.
