There has always been the joke among politics in recent years of "oh yeah, if the Democrats get power back, they are going to throw President Trump in jail." It was a joke born out of a reality, as Democrats went after Trump with everything they had, and failed miserably. All they had to their conviction name was a trumped up (pun intended) mortgage fraud case overnight signing a form. Then a civil case with Stormi Daniels and E. Jean Caroll that never truly produced anything damning outside of a huge payoff.
But the joke is no longer a joke. Democrats are being rather open about their plans now, actually. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker said recently about the Democrats "Project 2029" their goal is to prosecute federal agents and anyone in the Trump administration who "has broken the law." He added they will do it "criminally, civilly...whatever we can do."
The threats are no longer veiled or half-hearted. They are making it clear their plan is to prosecute and go after Republicans in the administration, or federal agents simply doing their job. This is not some new policy strategy aimed at a better America. It is about them wanting to jail President Trump and his allies because he hurt their feelings and stopped their ridiculous agenda in its tracks.
Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters says their goal is simple, and that is to destroy the American dream we have spent years building.
"It is about the Democrats controlling their grasp on power by any means necessary...and it is about selling out the American dream," he says.
That has been the Democrats motive for a while it has seemed. Open the borders, release violent criminals, demonize white people, and create chaos wherever they can. They want you to run to them to be a savior for some reason. When in reality, they care only about power and have zero foundation on which to build.
They have no rising star in the party, no momentum, and maybe most importantly, no direction. Their agenda has become nothing about helping America or doing anything remotely positive for the American people. It has become about bashing Republicans, President Trump, and demanding their radical progressive agenda be imposed without question. When it is not imposed, they throw a temper tantrum, stomp their feet, and threaten prosecution.
It has become their playbook and ultimately could be their demise.
"They want to fundamentally change the country...that is why everything they do is to create chaos around the President," says Gruters. "They do not want people to see the American dream is alive and well...they want to take us on a path of total destruction."
If they ever tell you, it is about children, or families, or whatever line of complete nonsense they give, never believe it. It is always about power. Which is true with politicians on both sides. But Democrats are willing to blindly prosecute to get their way. That is, again, what you call a temper tantrum.
Americans have shown they do not want the agenda. They voted for President Trump's agenda, and from what he has been able to tackle so far on issues like affordability, he has something in his pocket the Democrats do not. That is an actual winning message.
"Over time, it is going to pay off with massive dividends for the average American worker," Gruters says.
He adds these kitchen table issues, like affordability, mean more to voters than some Democrat agenda.
That agenda they have made clear. Prosecute until they get their way. Like a spoiled seven-year-old child who cannot handle consequences of their actions.
