The man who prosecuted the so-called Russiagate case against President Trump has died.
Robert Muller was 81, his family said midday Saturday, but did not mention the cause of death.
Muller was, however, diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2021, his family said in a statement made public by the New York Times.
Muller's probe led to criminal charges against some of those who were close to President Trump during his first term, but did not result in charges against Trump.
In response to news of Muller's death, President Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Robert Mueller just died,” said Trump. “Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Before the Trump case Muller was head of the FBI and was known as a mover and shaker in the Washington DC establishment.
