Despite the last year of successes and economic benchmarks under President Trump, new polling from Fox News shows that only 30% of people approve of the economy right now. That’s actually down 2% from July of 2025, when 32% of people approved.

So why are so many voters still unhappy with the economic progress that’s been made since Trump took office in 2025? Part of it is likely the mainstream media. Craig Bannister with the Media Research Center explained: “What you see is, things are moving in the right direction overall, but the media refuse to acknowledge it.”

Bannister went on to say that no matter how much Trump manages to repair the damage done by Bidenomics, the mainstream media won’t give him credit for it. “I think you’ll see the acknowledgement being diluted by a ‘yes, but,’” he said. “I think you’ll just have to be on the lookout for that sort of thing.”

Essentially, as many times as Trump manages to correct an issue, you’ll hear members of the mainstream media try to find a downside to the problem being solved. If there’s good news, the mainstream media will downplay or outright deny any progress. If there’s economic bad news, it will make headlines for weeks.
