Last week, the week before the President's State Of The Union Address, Republicans that are part of Trump's political command gathered in Washington for what is being called a strategy super session.
This is according to political writer, Mark Halperin.
The purpose of the meeting was to come up with the best strategy to avoid the usual party-in-power losses, in the midterms.
"They definitely get it, they're in tune and they're very familiar with the polling, and what Americans are concerned about" said Kiersten Pels, national press secretary for the RNC.
According to reports, the big take away from the GOP meeting? The economy is the #1 issue.
"We really have to drive the contrast with Democrats, how the economy was under Biden with 9% inflation" Pels told KTRH, "We forget how much of a disaster it was when Democrats were in control."
The message is clear, now it's up to Republicans to deliver with a little over 8 months to go until the midterms.
"We're very aligned heading into this midterm year, and we have a lot on our end that we're going to do to make sure that the President has a full four years in office, and that he's not cut off by Democrats regaining control."
That plan includes President Trump campaigning like he did 2024, beginning tomorrow right here in Texas, with a stop in Corpus Christi.
