San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones issued a public apology during a press conference ahead of a potential censure vote on Friday.
This stems from an altercation she had with another member of the City Council, during which she raised her voice and swore at her while discussing public safety issues.
In her apology, Jones said: “Where I come from and how I was raised, when you make a mistake, you apologize. You fess up, and you apologize.” She continued, “I wanted to publicly apologize to my colleague, to my teammate, Councilwoman Kaur.”
Jones said she had already privately apologized to Kaur for raising her voice and swearing at her, but wanted to issue a public apology as well.
