Three people were killed in a strike by a US military task force on a vessel in the Caribbean operated by a terrorist organization, officials said Monday.
It's the 45th bombing attack on suspected narco-boats in the area since the beginning of last September, resulting in a total of 153 deaths, according to US military figures.
Monday's incident was prompted by evidence that the boat was traveling along "known narco-trafficking" routes in the Caribbean.
No US personnel were injured in this operation, and a statement from SouthComm does not identify the terrorist organization with which the boat was affiliated.
