Mar-a-Lago Armed Gunman Identified

Police have identified the apparently armed gunman, who was shot and killed as 21- year-old, Austin Tucker Martin of North Carolina.

According to the Palm County Sheriff's office, at 1:30am Eastern time this morning Secret Service agents detected an individual making his way into the inner perimeter of the president's Mar-a-Lago estate.

A Deputy and 2 Secret Service Agents on the detail went to the area to investigate. They confronted a white male, carrying a gas can and a shot gun. The man was ordered to drop both items; in response the gunman raised the weapon and fired at the 2 Secret Service agents and the Deputy. The officers returned fire and the man is now deceased. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw told reporters. The FBI investigation is under way.

President Trump was not in Florida when this took place. He attended a function in Washington.
